I’m so glad you see the importance in these documentary family sessions in whichever place you call home.

So in order to prepare for the session there’s only a few things you need to do.

I’m assuming you already hired me. If not, then shoot me an email so we can get started!

Once we chat and you’re ready to book a date I’ll send you a questionnaire. This helps me get to know you so that when I arrive at your home all that is left is to put a face to the name. Also, it’s helpful if I know how we will spend our time together. I love knowing what is important to you so I get images that reflect your ideas.

Then I’ll check in with you before the session to make sure we are good to go. I’ll probably call you though I love texting. But it’s better if nothing gets lost in translation so I’ll call.

After we chat you’ll get ready by picking out something super comfortable to wear. I’m talking really really comfy. Because if you aren’t comfy you will know it, I’ll know it, and your pictures will show it. As for your family… I’m all about you coordinating. Please, don’t match. Just coordinate. Stay away from pictures and words on your kids clothes but other than that make sure they are happy.

And don’t forget to clean your house. Clean not sterilize. You’re not putting your house up for sale. You don’t need to rent a storage unit and hide all the details of your life. Just make it your regular everyday clean. Things left out and about are fine. That’s life.

I’ll then show up and play with your kiddos. They’ll get used to me and I’ll take out my camera. Then they will loose interest in me and our session will begin and I’ll be a fly on the wall.

Our time will have to come to an end and you’ll have to wait for a little preview on my Facebook page. You’re following that page, right? Soon after I’ll call you so we can set up a date to view your printed images!

Then we will do it again when your kids grow a bit and you’re in need of a reminder of the crazy, messy, beautiful life you’re living!
