The kids and I have a big chunk of the day together from noon to bedtime. That’s a lot of hours to fill and I’m expected to be a nurse, chef, entertainer, referee, and always eager playmate all at the same time.

So I’m delighted that the weather is getting warmer and the kids can become intoxicated with the fresh air. They get so involved with their activities that sometimes, like today, I wasn’t expected to be anything. So I decided to be the photographer which is one of my favorite roles.

This is the kid that can’t stand a crumb or bit of sauce on his fingers when he is eating, but is elbow deep in extremely wet soil! So glad I was able to capture this as his love for the outdoors and plants has always been part of him.
